It is completely normal to see them rise to the surface for a quick breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They build bubble nests when breeding<br>Males create floating bubble nests at the surface then carefully place the eggs inside and guard them until they hatch.<br><br>While Bettas will tolerate small aquariums they are genuinely happier and more active in larger spaces.
